We hired Tasha for overnight care of our premature twin babies. I immediately felt at ease with Tasha. She has a warm, caring and gentle nature that is coupled with a supreme confidence in infant care. Tasha stayed with us such a small amount of time but she made a lasting difference. I will always remember her and be thankful. I recommend Tasha without reservation.

When we met Tasha, we all just clicked. It was magic. She was so warm and inviting right from the start . . . I had a wonderful birth experience that I will treasure forever and a big part of that is because of her. Thank you Tasha for the most amazing experience and empowering me to bring my perfect baby girl into the world.”

Bio

Every birth. Every body. I am here for you.

When we view birth as a holistic experience and when we work through physical/emotional challenges it ultimately allows connection. Connection to your partner, to your baby & to your new identity as a parent. And when we create the safe space you need to have the best possible outcome, you find your own strength in vulnerability. This is my hope for you and I am there to support you and your care team, with a calming and reassuring presence every step of the way.

I feel all birthing people deserve respect of their stories and of their bodies. I am a strong advocate for all my clients and I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+, mood & anxiety disorders, trauma survivors & PSTD, twin families and loss/fertility journeys. Because pregnancy/birth can be such a vulnerable time, my sensitivity to all that you bring to this experience is always valued and heard with empathy and compassion.

Postpartum is a huge transition for every family and utilizing both my own experience as a parent of a high needs baby and my training in perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, as well as traditional methods of care, I am there to support you in those first few vulnerable months of parenthood. I offer Placenta Encapsulation and baby wearing education, lactation guidance, nourishing feasts and emotional support.  I also specialize in families with multiples and am happy to aid in setting up effective and efficient systems to aid in your daily rhythms. I am here to provide individualized quality care for you and your family and my goal is to set you up for long term success.

BACKGROUND

I’ve trained with DONA and Doula Training International (DTI) as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, as well as earning my Reproductive Health Certificate. I’ve studied the art the Rebozo with Gena Kirby and trained with Wendy Scharp in Lactation & Breastfeeding. I am certified in CPR/AED and am an IPPA trained Placenta Encapsulator. I have had extensive experience in Grief/Trauma Counseling, Art Therapy, Cultural Humility and I am PSI trained in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety disorders.

I am a Queer mama recently immigrated from Canada, moving here with my partner who is a hard working trauma Nurse, a tenacious 4.5yr old, a stoic old kitty named Sugar and rambunctious puppy named Freya. When I’m not at a birth, with my clients or educating myself further, my days are spent gardening, playing the piano, keeping my kiddo busy by the river or in the forests and baking super yummy treats. I pride myself on living healthy and staying strong but I’m always up for a good local IPA! The hoppier the better!

MORE TESTIMONIALS:

“We feel so fortunate to have had Tasha as our doula! Tasha embodies all the right qualities that make her amazing at what she does. She is knowledgeable, intuitive, warm, caring and respectful. Tasha was incredibly encouraging during labor and a very powerful coach as things became more and more challenging. During the hardest parts of my labor, she was right by my side, guiding me through with positivity and supportive words that made a huge difference. I really don’t think I could have done it without her! In addition, Tasha was easy to reach and great at checking in to see how I was doing in the weeks leading up to the birth and postnatally as well. We are forever grateful to Tasha for her support.”

“My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Tasha on a few different occasions. We hired Tasha for overnight care of our premature twin babies. I immediately felt at ease with Tasha. She has a warm, caring and gentle nature that is coupled with a supreme confidence in infant care. She watched and fed my babies throughout the night so I could get some much needed rest. Being premature both babies had some special feeding needs and Tasha was able to address those needs with deftness and surety. Not only that but she served as a support for me while I was postpartum helping me navigate the land mines of hormones, recovering from a c-section and other assorted baby related stuff. She stayed with us such a small amount of time but she made a lasting difference. I will always remember her and be thankful. I recommend Tasha without reservation. Any family would be lucky to have her as a member of their 'tribe.'”

“Tasha was amazing to work with! I had dreamed about having my baby with the perfect pregnancy and a beautiful med free natural birth. When I became pregnant with my daughter we were planning a home birth, but finances prevented that and we had a fully insured hospital birth instead. But when we were making that decision I felt that I was settling and it kind of broke my heart a little. I told my husband that I wanted/needed to hire a doula cause I felt I was giving up on the kind of birth I wanted but I wanted to be successful at having a natural birth and I knew a doula would help me get there. When we met Tasha we all just clicked. It was magic. She was so warm and inviting right from the start. Each our meeting she stayed and answered any questions we had and brought us books and resources that were so very helpful. As birth approached we were so impatient and I was constantly texting her day and night and she reassured my every worry and kept me calm and feeling powerful of my body. She was so very encouraging of my first birth experience and I felt so confident. Our birthing time came and things quickly got complicated. I had a very on again off again labor and we all were going back and fourth to our hospital for my 5 day laboring process. I was becoming so discouraged and exhausted and at the end I didn’t care how she came out I was just ready to be done. I remember during the pushing, I was only focused on Tasha and she was an amazing coach. She counted my every push and that is exactly what I needed. I was in some magical zone with her, listening to her every direction. I didn’t have the unmedicated home birth I had originally wanted but I had a wonderful birth experience that I will treasure forever and a big part of that is because of her. Thank you Tasha for the most amazing experience and empowering me to bring my perfect baby girl into the world.”
